CCPNG Secretary Max Beagrie has written up an account of the activities of the Club in recent times – the most recent event formed part of the massive celebrations currently going on in PNG to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the country’s independence. A huge week in Port Moresby has seen the town buzzing with visiting international dignitaries, warships and aircraft from as far afield as France, India, US, Australia and New Zealand in town to add to the air of celebration and festivities. But nowhere was more abuzz than the grand surroundings of the Kutubu Convention Centre at the Hilton Hotel where 430 Carbine Club members and guests gathered on Friday 5th September to join in the celebrations with a theme of 50 years in sport.
